A 2.5-hour “Reykjavík Grand Excursion” bus tour daily at 1pm lets you “do” the waterfront, Hallgrímskirkja, the Pearl, and the National Museum all before afternoon tea. The price is 5,499kr for adults, half-price for children 12 to 15, and free for children under 12, including museum admission and pickup/dropoff service. To go at your own pace, choose the “Hop On–Hop Off” tour, which runs 3 or 4 times a week (check website) June to August on open-topped double-deckers for 4,000kr adults, half-price for children 12 to 15, and free for children under 12. Departing from Harpa every 30 minutes, sights include Hallgrímskirkja, the Pearl, the National Museum, the old port, Kringlan Mall, and Laugardalur Park. The bus completes the loop once each hour, so you can stop wherever you like and catch another bus an hour or two later. Your ticket is valid for 24 hours from the first use, so you can continue hopping the next morning.
