Laugardalur in Reykjavik
According to legend, Ingólfur Arnarson chose the name Reykjavík, or "Smoky Bay," when he saw distant steam rising from what is now Laugardalur (Hot Spring Valley). Those hot springs still heat the Laugardalslaug pool, and Icelandic families are also drawn by the zoo, family park, botanical garden, sports stadiums, and luxury Laugar Spa.
