This remote lodge is located in a patch of dense tropical rainforest alongside the area’s namesake river. The lodge is one of the closest to the national park, and also has its own well-kept trail system along the Rio Celeste. All the lodgings are individual casitas (little houses), with varnished wood floors, high peaked ceilings made from locally cut cane and either four-poster king bed or two queens, with hand-carved headboards. All of the casitas are virtually identical in size and layout, though the suites have forest-view balconies and hot tubs. Off season rates are often 50 percent lower.
