The open air lobby of this secluded resort looks out on a turquoise infinity pool that stretches across the private stretch of Almirante Beach that fronts the hotel, with gentle lapping surf and the chatter of birds and coquís filling the air. And in the first minutes of your stay, you can see why you’ve picked this place. It’s certainly not for the rooms, which are spacious (especially the one- and two-bedroom apartments), but sparsely decorated in a manner that can only be charitably described as dated. That being said, all are close to the beach and pool, which is why you’re here. The restaurant, Brisas, draws locals as well as visitors, especially for its $20 steak nights every Monday through Wednesday. The resort is a bit removed from the center of Rincón, so you’ll need a car to explore the area.
