A visit to Rio de Janeiro is not complete without a churrasco rodizio; it is almost a rite of passage to indulge at least once in an all-you-can-eat barbecue feast with all the trimmings. The Carretão chain offers quality churrasco, seven days a week, at very reasonable prices. The price of your meal includes a large buffet with salads, antipasto, fish, and pasta. You can also order a host of side dishes, such as French fries, rice, baked bananas, potatoes, black beans, and more. However, all of that is just a distraction from the main course: prime Brazilian beef. Waiters will continuously come by your table and offer a selection of cuts of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and sausages. Feel free to taste as much as you like or politely decline until you see something you do want. The waiters will keep coming, no matter what. For dessert, a waiter will lug over a large tray showcasing samples of the various sweet treats on offer. However, keep in mind that desserts, and drinks, are not included in the price of the meal. (There is also a Carretão in Ipanema on Rua Visconde de Pirajá 112.)
