In an old stone building in the so-called smallest town in the world, this tiny eatery attracts the crowds through summer (additional tables are set up outdoors on a terrace that affords fine views over the surrounding countryside). Local dishes on offer include appetizers such as prosciutto and sheep’s cheese, followed by mushroom omelettes or venison goulash served with gnocchi. Istrian wines—red Teran and white Malvazija—are served by the carafe, and the house also serves biska (a potent liquor made from mistletoe) as an aperitif. The tavern is cash-only.
