Built in 1937 as a big-band dance hall, this is my favorite spot in Estes Park. It is not just the woodsy atmosphere, which has the best national-park-lodge feel in the area, from the stuffed animal heads to the log beams. It's also that the patio has great views, the beer is cold, and the food is first-rate, from roasted beets for starters to the steaks, pastas, burgers, and pizzas for the main event. Expect live music and a bit of a wait in peak season.
