This atmospheric lodging is not what you might expect from a hotel chain. It occupies an 18th century palace with a solid stone façade and a coat of arms above the door. Inside, it retains plenty of old-world character with dark wood fittings, comfy armchairs, and terracotta floors. The compact guest rooms feature curtained alcoves and four poster beds in some cases, and all have traditionally tiled bathrooms. There’s also a tiny cinema room. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the old town but bear in mind that parking here is heavily restricted. If arriving by car, drop off your bags first and the staff will direct you to a car park nearby.
