Hôtel de la Cathédrale
It’s hard to beat the location of this simple yet charming hotel: It’s just off a pedestrian street midway between the cathedral and the Eglise St-Maclou. Some rooms have more dash than others, with pretty toile de jouy wallpaper, deep leather armchairs and exposed beams. The courtyard garden is just as charming and is a little haven in the summer. When it’s too chilly to eat outside, the cozy breakfast room—with its beamed ceiling and inglenook fireplace—is a delightful alternative. Some of the public areas could do with sprucing up, though, and the hotel might not suit people with limited mobility.
