David and Rosemary Brown have gone to the trouble of getting their land, set on its own natural desert landscape, designated as an official National Wildlife Preserve. Native flora and fauna surround this secluded bed-and-breakfast, and you may be greeted by a coyote, turtles, or one of the legendary javelinas (wild pigs) of the region. The well-traveled couple keeps a colorfully decorated and cozy place. A separate casita features a full kitchen, while the two suites boast kitchenettes. The décor is eclectic, with pink or purple accent walls and brightly colored print bed covers. Massages are available if reserved in advance, as is an outdoor spa. Breakfast, which may include fresh eggs from the hacienda's chickens, is gratis.
