Five blocks from Salento’s main square, this original 19th-century plantation house and the newly restored Don Eduardo coffee finca (tours are available) provide basic but comfortable hostel-style options. Set amid extensive lush gardens with fragrant lemon and orange trees, you can choose from dorm rooms (with bunks) or private rooms with en-suites or shared bathroom. The colorful finca provides the main traveler hangout in town with a very social, international feel; the British owners provide a wealth of local information (it’s the town’s de facto tourist office) as well as organize standard (as well as more original) regional tours. There are shared kitchen facilities, a bookshop, Wi-Fi, and coffee, lots of it. They also offer a transport service/pick up from Pereira and Armenia.
