Manastirine Necropolis
The ancients forbade the burial of bodies within the town walls of Solana. From the 4th century onwards, Christian martyrs from Salona and Split, including Salona bishop (and later saint) Domnius, were buried here. Like many Christian burial sites from this period, Manastirine later became a place of worship where Christians would pay tribute to those who had died for their faith. Consequently, in the 5th century a basilica was built over the graves. Rev. Bulić, who died in 1934, was also buried here.
