Spectator Sports in Salt Lake City

The National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz (tel. 801/325-2500; www.utahjazz.com) usually packs the house, so get your tickets early. They play at the EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple.

The Utah Grizzlies (tel. 801/988-8000; www.utahgrizzlies.com), of the East Coast Hockey League, play in the E Center, 3200 S. Decker Lake Dr., West Valley City (off I-215 exit 20).

Real Salt Lake (tel. 801/924-8585; www.realsaltlake.com), the city's professional soccer team, plays at Rio Tinto Stadium, 9256 S. State St. in Sandy.

If you want to take in a minor league baseball game, the Pacific Coast League's Salt Lake Bees (tel. 801/325-2273; www.slbees.com), a Triple-A affiliate of the Anaheim Angels, play at Franklin Covey Field, at 77 W. 1300 South.

The University of Utah's Runnin' Utes and Lady Utes (tel. 801/581-8849; www.utahutes.com) compete in the Mountain West Conference. The women's gymnastics team is phenomenal, and men's football and basketball have been growing in stature nationally. Tickets are usually available on fairly short notice, although it's best to call far in advance for football games.
