Youth Orchestra of San Antonio
Around in one form or another since 1949, this company has been led since 2008 by musical director Troy Peters. Its nine orchestras—two full orchestras, a wind ensemble, a flute choir, and five string orchestras—put on multiple performances throughout the season, including their Classic Albums Live series, featuring dozens of local musicians and partnering with the “grownup” Symphony for a side-by-side concert each year.
