This five-room ocean-green house is as close as you can get to renting a vacation home by the beach without having to stay a week or more. Each room has a private entrance and private bath with tub and shower, and two can be connected to create a larger space, with 2 queen and 2 twin beds. A country English theme prevails inside the white picket fence, with geraniums and daisies blooming in pots beneath shade trees and beds dressed in floral linens and lace. It's not too fussy, though children under 12 aren’t admitted and this certainly isn't the place for a rowdy celebration. An expanded continental breakfast (cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, fruit) is served in the antique-filled dining room each morning. There's also a three-bedroom condo with room for six available by the week. It's a two-block walk to funky OB's busy Newport Avenue with all sorts of restaurants, bars and shops. Be aware--OB is in the airport’s flight path and plane noise, especially in early morning, is significant. But residents happy to be living by the beach manage to tune it out. Parking is tight, but there's a pay lot one block away.
