This sleek, brand-new-from-the-ground-up boutique hotel has a lot to offer. For one thing, it’s directly across the street from AT&T Park, home to the San Francisco Giants and host to performances by Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, James Taylor, and more. The rooftop bar, reserved for guests of the hotel (that may change once they’ve been open for a while), offers 360-degree views of the ballpark, bay, and downtown and ultra-modern yet comfy chaise lounges and seating areas, with fire pits placed strategically throughout. The rooms are bright and comfortable, with modern, custom-designed furniture and amenities, although there’s not a lot of privacy with the sliding glass bathroom door (when fully closed, it still leaves a gap of about an inch or so). While families are welcome, this hotel is definitely geared more toward a young, hip crowd looking to catch a game and a cocktail, either on the rooftop or at Bar Via on the ground floor, which serves signature cocktails, small bites, and floor-to-ceiling windows so you can see and be seen. Breakfast is available in the brightly lit basement cafe each morning from 6:30 to 10am, but with so many excellent restaurants and coffeehouses nearby, you might prefer to explore. Be sure to ask for a room with a view of the ballpark.
