As the first permanent food truck plaza in San Francisco, SoMa StrEat Food Park established itself as one of the best places to sample a variety of outstanding foods. Here’s how it works: each day 13 trucks roll in and serve lunch; some may stay on to serve dinner, others leave and their spot is given to a new truck. The only permanent truck is StrEat Brew, serving beer, wine, and sangria; and a $12 bottomless mimosa for the Sunday brunch crowd. With over 70 rotating vendors, with names like Curry Up Now, Seoul on Wheels, Adam’s Grub Truck, and Chairman Bao, you are sure to find something you like, no matter when you show up. And this is not a roach coach scene at all. The food is high quality, the trucks are clean, music is playing, and there’s covered seating, flatscreen TVs, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi. In fact, SoMa StrEat Food feels like one big party. With no tourist attractions close by, but easy public transportation access, this place is a destination in itself; come just to hang out and eat with the locals. Most vendors take credit cards; there’s also an ATM on site.
