I eat a lot of chocolate, and I also own and operate a food magazine, so I feel confident in saying Dandelion makes some seriously outstanding chocolate. You can tour and taste for yourself at the “bean-to-bar” factory, cafe, and shop in the Mission, where they transform raw beans to small-batch bars right before your eyes (visible from the cafe during production hours or on one of their $5 factory tours). They also serve chocolate drinks and desserts, and sell—what else—chocolate. Book factory tours well in advance, and wear close-toed shoes to do the tour. Monday through Thursday 10am to 10pm; Friday through Saturday 10am to 11pm.
