Located in the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, this restaurant is affiliated with Belize’s largest beef and cattle operation, its namesake. Which means that all the beef dishes are winners, though I’m partial to the grass-fed ribeye. The restaurant also serves up seafood, chicken, and other dishes with the same attention to quality as their beef. Belizean standards will cost you more here than at a local joint, but the taste reflects the quality of the ingredients. From Friday through Sunday sushi is served, and live music is often played in the dining room, which is large and comfortable, with plenty of varnished wood and air conditioning to keep it cool. A few wrought-iron tables line an outdoor patio and make a great place to have lunch with a jungle view or dinner under the stars.
