This lodge offers more comfortable rooms and better grounds at nearly the same low price as the cluster of backpacker hotels near the Chirripó National Park entrance. It’s on the banks of the Río General, some 8km (5 miles) outside of San Isidro. Rooms are housed in a simple buildings set on plain concrete blocks, with clay tile roofs, and whole tree trunks used as columns to hold up that roof. These tree trunks also come in handy for supporting the hammocks that are generously distributed. While cozy, the rooms feel as if they could use a little modernization.
