This is a pretty little nature lodge in a splendid setting. The rooms are in individual and duplex buildings scattered over rolling hillsides and well-tended gardens. At the center, there’s a midsize pond stocked with local trout and featuring a deck out into its center, which you can use for sightseeing or a fishing perch. Even if you don’t fish for the trout yourself, you’ll often find it on the menu here. The varnished wood rooms are homey and enlivened by a simple photo or flower print framed and hung above the beds. All have gas heaters and plenty of room, and most have a pleasant little porch or veranda. There is also a zipline here. This is a sister lodge to Mawamba Lodge ★ in Tortuguero.
