Sip a delicious flavored martini at the bar while taking in the gorgeous room, a mélange of exotic colors and furnishings, ethnic art and sculpture and Asian fabric, and the trans-Pacific rhythms. The menu and bar area are well suited for a few late munchies and drinks. There is belly-dancing Thursday to Saturday nights and always really fine world beat music being played. A recent menu revision has taken this restaurant back to its roots in Indian cuisine, with favorites like Chana masala, tandoori chicken, paneer curry, naan, and samosas. Purists quibble, but we really like the food. Puerto Rico anti-smoking restrictions have shut down the hookah lounge, but the water pipes are still there, part of the intricate collection of Far East artifacts that provide much of the charm of Tantra, which is housed in a beautifully restored Old San Juan mansion. The staff is friendly and charming.
