This hip bar, restaurant, and music club combo buzzes with live music seven nights a week. It's the only place in town where you can enjoy a filet mignon with your funk or ravioli with your reggae. The international acts range from salsa (how about a dance lesson with that?) to jazz, rock, gospel, country, world music, alternative, indie rock, and singer-songwriter gigs. Big-name acts that have graced the stage include David Crosby, Jimmy Cliff, Karla Bonoff, and Tierney Sutton. Make a dinner reservation and keep your table for the show (this will sometimes get you a discount on the performance), or just pay the cover charge at the door and slide in for the music. The intimate, brick-walled space is long and narrow, with the restaurant and stage at one end and the bar at the back. A large outdoor patio is a welcome break after the sometimes-crowded dance floor. The menu spotlights local, organic products, with competent offerings from pastas and pizzas to fish, chicken, steaks, and burgers. The $4 happy hour on Fridays from 5 to 8pm is a bargain.
