After a hot summer hike or a day on the ski slopes, sometimes nothing hits the spot like a pint of ale and a plate of loaded potato skins. Second Street Brewery offers both in a convivial setting, plus live music on weekends. There are two locations, this one actually on Second Street and another one in the Railyard. Both have eight drafts on tap—the cream stout is a standout—plus a menu of serviceable bar fare like turkey wraps and fish and chips. (Waffle fries with green chile mustard, too—yum!) If you can't choose among the brews, order a sampler. The original Second Street location is a big, lively space, especially when the music is happening in the evenings. It manages to stay family-friendly, with a kid-sized fish and chips plate the little ones will be fighting over.
