Tucked away inside the Santa Fe Design Center, Pizza Centro turns out an excellent hand-tossed New York–style pizza in a suitably modern, no-frills setting. The restaurant makes its own dough and marinara sauces, with a menu full of specialty combos named after New York neighborhoods, like the Soho (roast chicken, mushroom, sun-dried tomato, onion, truffle oil, and fresh basil) and the Central Park (spinach, sun-dried tomato, basil, garlic, and ricotta). There’s also the Hell’s Kitchen: sausage, flash-fried eggplant, green chile, jalapeño, roasted red pepper, and feta. There are vegetarian selections and gluten- and dairy-free options as well. Sandwiches, calzones, and salads round things out. There’s also outside dining at picnic tables. Beer and wine are served. Other branches of Pizza Centro can be found at San Isidro Plaza, 3470 Zafarano Dr., off Cerrillos Road (tel. 505/471-6200) and in the Eldorado Agora Center, 7 Avenida Vista Grande (tel. 505/466-3161).
