Everything’s colorful in this Mexican-themed restaurant, with a busy open kitchen, handcrafted Mexican furniture, and walls decorated with still-life paintings and copper and ceramic pots. The menu here is more Mexican than New Mexican, blending foods such as squash, beans, and chile with everything from beef brisket to Pacific oysters and salmon. Specialties include the Santa Fe rotisserie chicken with a chipotle chile aioli; blue corn vegetable enchiladas; and our favorite—the grilled Mexican steak tacos, marinated sirloin steak served on soft corn tortillas with salsa and guacamole. Half-pound burgers are available at both lunch and dinner, and the Sunday brunch features breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, or for the non-adventurous in your group, plain old bacon and eggs or French toast. The restaurant has eight micro-brewed beers on tap, a good selection of wines by the glass, and an excellent selection of Mexican tequilas from which you can indulge in one of their specialty margaritas. Happy hour, Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, has discounted appetizers, beer, and wine. There is full liquor service.
