Planning a trip to Santa Lucia

The easiest way to get here from Tegucigalpa, a 20- to 30-minute ride, depending on traffic, is to take any San Juancito-bound bus and ask to be let off at the turnoff to town, a couple of kilometers from the actual center, where you can flag down any number of cars, colectivo taxis, or buses. Service runs in each direction about every 45 minutes from roughly 7:30am to 6pm.

You can drive to Santa Lucía from Tegucigalpa by heading east on Avenidas La Paz/Avenidas Los Próceres, following the numerous signs. The turnoff is about 14km (8 3/4 miles) from Tegucigalpa.
