When you're ready to take a break from browsing the upscale boutiques of Jardins, retreat to this lovely café/bistro and bakery. The menu offers a wide variety of light snacks, including Spanish tortillas, soups, sandwiches, and quiches. There's also a very affordable daily lunch menu, which for less than R$40 allows you to choose an appetizer, such as a soup, carpaccio, or salad, and one of four main courses, usually steak, fish, chicken, and a vegetarian pasta dish. Meals are deliciously prepared with fresh ingredients, and served by friendly staff. Make sure you leave room for dessert so you can treat yourself to the delicious pastries prepared by the in-house bakery. I dare you to resist the chocolate éclairs, fruit tarts, or the caracol, a sweet, round puff pastry with pistachio, chocolate, and cinnamon. For some great people-watching, nab one of the tables on the patio overlooking Alameda Lorena.
