The Galeria dos Pães has billed itself as a bakery ever since it opened in 1936, but that doesn't quite do it justice. Today the Galeria is open 24 hours a day, and has boomed into a large bakery, deli, wine shop, grocery store, and café all rolled into one. Pick up up some snacks for a picnic in Ibirapuera Park or to take back to your hotel, or grab a seat in the café and enjoy an affordable meal, a sandwich, fruit juice, or afternoon tea. From 6pm-5am daily, the Galeria offers a soup buffet with a selection of six different soups, accompanied by breads, cheeses, pates, and other delicacies (R$33.50). In the early hours of the morning, the Galeria is a favorite pit stop for Paulistas to refuel after a night out on the town.
