Marriott Savannah Riverfront
This fairly standard business hotel just about beats the Hyatt behemoth further down the strip, with a wonderful waterside location at the quiet eastern end of the riverfront. Like most of Savannah’s big central hotels it primarily caters to business travelers and conference-attendees, but the staff are extra helpful, and the facilities are all top notch, including the gym (a rarity in Savannah). If you do stay, opt for a river-view room so you can admire all those huge ships floating by, day and night.
