Built in 1913 for the Chatham Artillery, this vaguely fortress-like structure was purchased by the American Legion in 1946. Today the no-frills but incredibly hip bar is open to everyone, not just war veterans, with the added attraction of free pool, darts, and Betty Bombers on the premises. Wednesday features line dancing at 7pm, Thursday is ladies night (4pm–midnight) featuring $1 beers, while Fridays men get $1 beers from 6 to 8pm. Open Monday to Wednesday 4pm to midnight, Thursday to Saturday 4pm to 2am.
