This is one of the more famous diners on the island, and though it definitely trades on its reputation (it’s not that good), the island decor is quaint, the location near the beach is chilled out, and the food is usually pretty good—go for the experience, accept the lines outside, and enjoy accordingly. The much eulogized pecan waffle ($6), and half-pound Chicago bear burger ($12), are both worth ordering, but the menu covers six pages and offers something for everyone. Portions are always large and filling.
