Fine dining on the riverfront, with an exquisite dinner menu featuring plenty of local seafood. Items change, but specialties such as the pecan-crusted local flounder, and jumbo lump crab cakes, are usually available. Lunch is a cheaper affair, with a range of sandwiches ($8–$14) and light meals (fish tacos for $13). The building dates back to 1859, and was designed by renowned architect John Norris as a cotton warehouse for merchant John Stoddard. The spacious dining rooms are simply decorated but retain some of the historical features: high ceilings, wide windows, chandeliers, and hardwood floors. The name of the restaurant refers to one of the owners, Dr. Irving Victor, aka “Dr. Vic.” A live singer with pianist performs daily.
