Covering 3 1/2 acres, the Japanese Garden is a perfect little world unto itself, with a cherry orchard (for spring color), babbling brooks, and a lake rimmed with Japanese irises and filled with colorful koi (Japanese carp). A special tea garden encloses a teahouse, where between April and October, on the fourth Saturday of the month at 1 and 2:15pm, you can attend a traditional tea ceremony ($10). Unfortunately, noise from a nearby road can be distracting. Between April and October, there are free guided tours of the gardens Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 and 2pm, additionally, between May and August, there are also tours on Tuesday and Wednesday 12:30pm.
