Seefeld has plenty of nightlife options to keep you entertained after a day in the alpine outdoors. Consider a drink at a glass-sided, oversize replica of an Eskimo's igloo, Bar Siglu, Klosterstrasse (tel. 05212/2621186), where live music is presented in the early evening in ways that somehow makes the drinks taste better.

The town is filled with cafes and bars; take your pick, as they are similar. One particular favorite, which also serves Tyrolean dishes, is Sportcafe Sailer, Innsbruckerstrasse 12 (tel. 05212/2005), which has a real local atmosphere and outdoor setting. If you like the beer and companions, you can order full meals here. Freshly made soups are popular in winter, and the most ordered main dish -- soul food to the Austrians -- is gröstli (made with potatoes, eggs, and bacon). In summer and winter, it's open daily from 11:30am to 10pm; in the spring and fall, daily 11:30am to 2pm and 6 to 10pm.

In season, Seefeld bustles with typical wine and beer cellars, along with nightclubs and dance clubs that come and go. However, the major nighttime attraction is the Spiel-Casino Seefeld, at the Hotel Karwendelhof, Bahnhofstrasse (tel. 05212/2340). It offers baccarat, blackjack, seven-card stud poker, a money wheel, American and French roulette, and 70 slot machines. Your admission is 21€ ($34) -- but that gives you the equivalent of 25€ ($40) in chips. It's open daily from 3pm to 3am.

Hotel Klosterbräu, Klosterstrasse 30, is the most sophisticated nightspot in town; its nightclub, Die Kane, presents an international orchestra and a floor show daily in winter and 3 nights a week in summer from 9pm to 3am. In winter, the club opens at 5pm for a tans-tee (tea dance). The hotel also features international specialties in its restaurant, Ritter Oswald Stube, and a gemütlich atmosphere in its Bräukeller, open from 10am to midnight, presenting stemming (folk) music after 8pm.
