Immediately outside Sequoia National Park, the Buckeye has a vintage motel feel and a spectacular riverside location. To better appreciate that locale, all of the rooms have a patio or balcony looking out to the main fork of the Kaweah River. The sister property across the street, the Sequoia Village Inn (www.sequoiavillageinn.com) offers nice cabin-style rooms big enough for families. Frankly, because of their careful upkeep and superb location, I like both properties much more than the motels in the heart of Three Rivers.
