With its tiled bathrooms, marble tile floors, and pale wooden furniture, the Hotel Goya may have a lot of hard surfaces, but the staff are warm and welcoming and the rooms, while small, are extremely well-designed. It’s hard to imagine a better bargain lodging in the city, as everything is kept fresh and functional. The location is also very good for walking to the city sites. The hotel sits in the heart of the oldest part of Barrio de Santa Cruz, no more than a 5-minute stroll from the cathedral. Ask for an interior room off the courtyard in the back to avoid street noise.
