You can't beat this hotel for an affordable, well-located place to stay near all the city's attractions. One street away from the shopping and restaurants on and around East Nanjing Road and a hop from two major metro stations, Central Hotel's clean and spacious rooms are a great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. (And rooms start at around USD$90 on some online booking engines.) Amenities are are touch above basic—for example, there's no pool, staff are not accustomed to servicing Wi-Fi issues so sometimes there's no online access, and the Chinese-style lobby looks a bit dated—but at these prices for Shanghai, you won't care.
