Bunari Secrets of Sibenik
This award-winning exhibit underwent renovation for more than a year and reopened in June 2009 better than ever. It is a multimedia interpretation of Croatian milestones built around four 15th-century bunara (water storage tanks) about 46m (150 ft.) from St. James Cathedral. Inside, two floors of sequentially arranged exhibits trace the city's history in words, photos, and even film. All exhibits are numbered so visitors can follow the displays in a specific order using a timeline that traces the city's evolution from its origins to the present day. The self-guided tour of Sibenik's culture, development, and famous native sons ends at a coffeehouse/wine bar/jazz club on the bottom level, where you can ruminate about what you've just seen.
