Hotel El Doncel
On the edge of the old town, this stone-built hotel is comfortable, convenient, and good value. It’s easy to find, close to the train station on the main road as you come into town, and it’s just a short walk up the hill to the cathedral and Plaza Mayor. The guestrooms have stone walls, wooden floors, and quiet air-conditioning, but there is no elevator. Our recommendation for Sigüenza is to stay at the parador but have dinner here at El Doncel’s wonderful restaurant. If you are inspired by chef Enrique Pérez’s exquisite cooking, the restaurant also offers cookery and wine courses.
