Castelo de Silves
Located at the highest point in town, Silves Castle once had walls that encircled the city and was an important defense when it was the capital and residence of the Moorish kings of the al-Garb. Steeped in history, the castle has a total of 11 towers, some modified over the centuries, and a set of sandstone walls that have remained virtually intact.
