Dedicated to Singapore history and culture, this is the museum to go to if you have time for just one. Housed in a neoclassical colonial beauty built in 1887, Singapore’s largest museum is made up of two main galleries. The Singapore History Gallery traces the history of Singapore from its origins in the 14th century up through the present day. The Singapore Living Gallery tells the island’s multi-faceted story through four themes close to the heart of Singaporeans—food, fashion, film and wayang (theater), and photography. Special exhibits and events range from lectures to film screenings and story telling for kids.
