If it’s peace and quiet you're after, this former stable house is nestled in the foliage near Singapore’s Turf Club, an expansive green space now home to horseback riding stables and soccer pitches. Several restaurants are within walking distance and so is a spa, Sylvia's Secrets @ Horsecity. Rooms are simple, but all are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms, TVs, work desk, tea/coffee maker, and free Wi-Fi. While there’s a garden and verandah, there is no pool. It’s about a 20-minute taxi ride into the city, though a new MRT line is in the works and when it's finished in 2016, the Sixth Avenue stop will be nearby (until then, the Botanic Gardens stop is the closest, at least a 30-minute walk or a 10-minute bus ride along Bukit Timah road to Sixth Avenue; Turf City is on the far side of Bukit Timah).
