The Crystal Jade empire has outlets all over the island, and the whole of Asia for that matter. In Singapore, the chain is an institution and known for its reasonable prices and efficient service (which isn’t always the case in Singapore). Crystal Jade Kitchen is casual and family-friendly (though other locations are more upscale) and a great place to sample lots of different Asian dishes, with a focus on Cantonese food. Choose from Cantonese-style noodles to soups, dumplings, dim sum, congee, and barbecued meats. You can’ t go wrong with a bowl of the shrimp wontons and dry noodles or a plate of roasted duck and barbecued pork with honey sauce. Of the more than 20 dim sum options, go for the steamed shrimp dumpling s and the baked B.B.Q. pork with honey pastries. Located in the Great World City mall, the closest MRT is Orchard, about a 20-minute walk; there are free shuttle buses daily between the mall and the bus stop in front of Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road, near the MRT stop.
