Alaska Ocean View Bed & Breakfast
This is one of those wonderful B&Bs that reflects the personality of an enthusiastic owner who pours everything into it, like an over-the-top hobby. That’s Carole Denkinger, who, with her husband, Bill, has thought of everything, even loaner laptops and HEPA air cleaners in every room. And boy, are the rooms nice: beds have down comforters and pillows, and the bathrooms are equipped with over-sized spa towels, cushy robes and fresh slippers. In the parlor there’s a library of Alaskana, filled with videos, maps, books and magazines. In the yard there’s bocce ball, croquet, badminton, horseshoes, and a pond with small waterfall. On the deck there’s a covered jacuzzi, a perfect place to watch the neighborhood eagles from (oh yeah—there are neighborhood eagles!). Finally, the included breakfast is a feast.
