Hotel Hellnar
Opened in 1998, with new wings added in 2004 and 2011, and practically next door to the Snæfellsjökull visitor center, Hotel Hellnar is a Green Globe-certified eco-hotel serving organic food, buying fair trade, and washing up with green detergents. Rooms are spare but dignified, and walls are a bit thin. The best rooms have views of Faxaflói Bay, while cottages add kitchens and sleep four to six.
