Solomons Charter Captains Association (SCCA) and Fin Finder Charters
The association runs many of its 40 boats out of the Calvert Marina Charter Dock, on Dowell Road (tel. 800/450-1775). Eleven of the SCCA's boats can carry more than six people; some can carry as many as 40. Standard association rates are $525 to $675.
The Fin Finder, a 46-foot Chesapeake-style workboat, is Capt. Sonney Forrest's own charter boat. It carries up to 30 passengers. Rates for a full day start at $800. Cruise tours and packages are also available.
