Horticulturalists will be drawn here. The name doesn’t ring a bell for most, but gardeners revere Burbank for developing more than 800 new varieties of plants, particularly roses. His former home is now a national historic landmark and the surrounding acre of land, free and open until sunset, is still tended and contains many of his creations.
