St-Paul de Vence is one of the most popular villages along the Côte d'Azur and prices reflect this. Many "hotels" do not have restaurants, although some offer lunchtime snacks. Unless you're staying in the village center, such as at Hôtel Le St-Paul or La Colombe d'Or, we'd recommend you rent a car. This is especially true if you're staying in any of the B&Bs near route de la Colle as you may dislike walking along this traffic-laden road into the old village.
In addition to our recommendations in this guide, we recommend Le Mas de Pierre (tel. 04-93-59-00-59; www.lemasdepierre.com), a Relais & Châteaux hotel on the outskirts of St-Paul de Vence. Every possible creature comfort is on tap from a spa, two restaurants, poolside bar, and private poolside cabanas to an orchid greenhouse.
