Planning a trip to St-Paul-de-Vence
Arriving — The nearest rail station is in Cagnes-sur-Mer. From here buses (no. 655) depart every 30 minutes, dropping passengers off in St-Paul-de-Vence (1.50€ one-way, journey time 1 hr.), then in Vence 10 minutes later. Bus (no. 9) also leaves from Nice every 15 minutes, dropping passengers off in Vence (1.70€ one-way, trip time: 1 hr.), from where you can hop aboard bus no. 655 down to St-Paul-de- Vence (trip time: 10 min.). If you’re driving from Nice, take either the A8 highway or the coastal route du Bord du Mer west, turn inland at Cagnes-sur-Mer, and follow signs north to St-Paul-de-Vence.

Getting Around — St-Paul’s Old Town is entirely pedestrianized, and most of the narrow streets are paved in cobblestones. Note that driving a car here is prohibited, except to drop off luggage at an Old Town hotel, and by prior arrangement only. The Fondation Maeght is around half a mile out of town.
